Switzerland

Switzerland is wonderful for cycling. There is a network of designated cycle roads, and possibly the most advanced MTB culture in the Europe. The Swiss are well to do so one encounters shops that hold Chris King and other expensive components in stock. Traffic is friendly, and as long as one sticks to the bike routes one is biking through beautiful landscapes on nice roads.
 
A number of guides have been published for the bike roads, without them one runs the risk of losing the bike routes which tend to go in winding complicated courses (we frequently winded up at some ones garage) or embarking on long unnecessary ascents. Camping is nice and friendly. Weather is unpredictable. We had more rain falling on us biking in central Switzerland than we ever had during the monsoons in the Himalayas.
